So I have been thinking about this all week and it just really got me wondering.
Earlier this week a coworker received roses from her husband of almost 10 years that had ballons saying "Just Because". Isnt that the sweetest thing?? I kept thinking that I would love to have a marriage where my husband would do romantic stuff just because and I would do the same for him.
Then I thought deeper and wondered about my relationship with God and I wondered how often I tell God how much I love him or appreciate him just because he is God. We all tell God how much we love him when he does a miracle in our lives or he grants our prayers but do we give him praise when life is going normal or nothing grand is happening to us? I know I am guilty of this but I am trying to improve. This past week has just really made me think about how much I should be praising God just because he is God. He is our greatest and most important relationship and we need to treat it like that. Just some food for thought! :)
Love Y'all! and remember smiles are contagious so go start an epidemic!

i dont understand
so i finally remembered what my blog name was and where it was so now i can restart this whole blogging thing. :)
i have decided i would write about something that has been in my mind for over a week. its about a conversation i had with my friend from work, Jodie, who i have been inviting to LifePoint and other things with my church friends. she hasn't accepted yet but im not giving up!
so anyways we were talking and she told me about this "Christian" girl that she yelled at in her class. i asked her why would you want to yell at her and her response surprised me (and explains why i put christian in quotations). Jodie told me that this girl was talking badly about people who smoke and drink because "God doesnt like those kinds of sinners', etc. How can you call yourself a representative of christ if you are telling people God hates them. Being a Christian is about loving people where they are and trying to lead them to a path of love and righteousness. How do u expect to win people to Christ if you are telling them they are hated. i just dont understand it!
Jodie then told me how this "Christian" girl continued to preach while everyone was getting upset with her and this girl told them, "idc, Jesus would be proud of me for telling yall these things." How can you tell people that Jesus would be happy about you telling people that he hates them?? This gives churches a bad rep too. Why would someone want to go to church after hearing this girl tell them that God hates them??
I love Jodie and i hope eventually she will accept my invite and come to LifePoint so i can show her not all Christian believe that God hates her. i want to show her that God loves her no matter what. That is what being a Christian is all about just loving people where they are and helping them find Jesus. Jodie told me she gets discouraged to be open minded to others beliefs quickly. Just think about it, one girl spreading the wrong message about God can cause some people never to find the true meaning of Jesus because they dont want to go to church and feel like the black sheep.
This is why i love my church. LifePoint is full of real people who arent perfect who just love on people and show them that God loves them no matter what. This is how you be the light of the world and spread the word of Jesus.
i hoped you liked my little blog post. this story has just been weighing on my mind and i just had to share it.
Love yall and remember smiles are contagious so go start an epidemic! :)
